CEDAR AVENUE PLAYING FIELD
UPDATE: 05/12/2019
This application has been withdrawn meaning that the current plan will not progress. Whilst this is very good news we need to remain vigilant for any signs that new plans are being drawn up.
This is listed as being on Chestnut Avenue on the Newark & Sherwood District Council planning website, and there is an entrance on the corner of Cedar Avenue and Chestnut Avenue, but locally this has always been known as the Cedar Avenue Playing Field.
Formerly owned by the Gilstrap Charity, the trustees of which are all councillors at Newark & Sherwood District Council, the land was sold to Newark and Sherwood Homes who have submitted a planning application for 16 2-bed houses, 6 1-bed flats, a shared house for supported housing and a replacement Multi Use Games Area. The latest site plan shows that the majority of green space on the site would be lost.
