THE STADIUM, ELM AVENUE

The Stadium on Elm Avenue is part of Newark's sporting history having played host to a variety of sports since the early 20th century.

Although it is no longer viable as a football venue, especially with the provision of new, state of the art 3G pitches at the sports village, the land could and should be used for other outdoor activity. It's loss would deny the people of Newark a potentially important green space.

Elm Avenue itself is a very narrow road, barely able to accommodate two cars travelling in opposite directions. More houses means more traffic, something that Elm Avenue will find difficult to service.
